Worship

The quality of our worship is one expression of the depth and breadth of our Christian discipleship. HopePointe volunteers form Worship Ministry Teams that bring all aspects of our worship services to life.

  • Acolytes

Acolytes assist the celebrant in the processions, which help the church rightly focus on the beauty of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Audio/Visual

This team helps services run smoothly by operating the sound board, queuing lyrics and Scripture passages on the projector, and coordinating service elements with other team leaders.

  • Cupbearers

Cupbearers assist the clergy by serving the wine to the people during the Eucharist. Each cupbearer is accompanied by a clergy person as they serve communion to the people of God.

  • Flower Guild

This team uses their love and talent for the art of interior design to decorate the chancel and other areas within the Sanctuary and the building.

  • Greeters & Ushers

These people are the first happy faces you’ll meet as you enter the building. They help create a welcoming atmosphere, assist people in finding a seat in the Sanctuary, and direct the people of God to the kneelers at the front of the Sanctuary for use during the Eucharist.

  • HopePointe Choire

The HopePointe Choire helps lead worship on Sundays and for other services during the church year. In addition to facilitating congregational singing, the Choire lovingly presents choral anthems and major works of a variety of styles and composers, as well as modern hymn and song arrangements.

  • Modern Band

The modern band helps lead worship on Sundays and other services during the church year. The band employs various musical styles, instrumentation, and functions with vocal leaders and musical instruments such as acoustic and electric guitar, drums, piano, and cello.

  • Prayer

During or after the Eucharist, this team prays with individuals and small groups who need prayer for a variety of reasons.

  • Readers

Each worship service includes readings from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, including the Psalms on occasion. Readers use their gift of public speaking to read the Word of the Lord to the congregation.

  • Table Care

This team works behind the scenes to prepare and set up the elements for the Eucharist so that the clergy can set the table during communion time.
