Clergy

  • Rev. Travis King, Senior Pastor

    Travis is married to Kelly, and they are proud parents of Colton, Kensy, Casen, and Canon. He is passionate about fellowship and discipleship through connecting with people and sharing God’s message of hope. Travis also loves to cook and dream up new ideas, and he is a master of puns.

  • Rev. Michael Dearman, Priest and Assisting Clergy

    Michael is married to Deacon Katie, and together they have two boys, Joey and Elliot. Michael is a priest who oversees church-wide discipleship, worship design, and youth ministry alongside Dn. Katie. Michael's hope is to see people of all ages mature in discipleship to Jesus Christ through the Anglican way of spiritual formation. He is passionate about theology, the arts, law, and punk rock.

  • Rev. Katie Dearman, Deacon and Assisting Clergy

    Katie is married to Michael, and they have two boys, Joey and Elliot. Katie is responsible for creative arts, women's ministry, and youth ministry. Katie equips families to glorify God in their homes, neighborhoods, schools, and places of work. Before entering full-time ministry, Katie danced, taught, and choreographed professionally, and continues to feel called to bring dancers into God's Kingdom.

Staff and Lay Leaders

  • Terrice Tinsley, Children's Ministry Director

    Experiencing the wonder of the Gospel through the richness of the liturgy at a young age has inspired Terrice's passion to help children discover God’s love for them in the context and joy of Christian community. Her desire is to equip parents to cultivate their children's hearts toward strong roots of faith with a love for the Holy Scriptures and an openness to prayer. Born in Houston, she and her husband Richard and their daughters have enjoyed living in such places as the Black Hills of South Dakota, the North Shore of Boston, and some of Texas' most interesting cities.

  • Melinda Young, Parish Administrator

    Melinda comes to HopePointe with 30 years of experience working in churches and Christian schools, serving primarily in administration and children’s ministry. She met her husband Brent in Bible college, and together they have served as both staff and lay ministers. They have two adult children. As the daughter of an Assemblies of God pastor, Melinda has a life-long love for the local church, and now welcomes the opportunity to serve HopePointe as Parish Administrator.

  • Austin Hunt, Music Director

    As HopePointe’s Music Director, Austin oversees the HopePointe Choir, Praise Team, and Children of Light choirs. He is also the Artistic Director of the award-winning Houston Boychoir and an accomplished composer of choral music, with titles available through Choristers Guild, Alfred, and Carl Fischer Music. Austin loves to spend quality time with his wife, Adaluz. Together, they enjoy tennis, travel, and knowing God through fellowship and Bible study.

  • Robert Shaw, Executive Pastor of Building Operations

    Robert brought his leadership skills and extensive experience in the oil and gas industry to the parish. He is passionate about helping the church practice good stewardship of our property and finances. If he’s not at the church you can find him golfing or spending time with his wife, Karen.

  • Sherry Pond, Organist

    Sherry is married to Dennis. She plays the organ for HopePointe worship services and assists the HopePointe Choir instrumentally. She is also the founding director of the Luminari Boys Choir, which rehearsed and performed regularly at HopePointe for several years. Her passion is to foster spiritual formation of children by involving them in musical worship from the earliest stages. She enjoys their three dogs, traveling in their RV to see grandchildren, and attending Texas Christian University (TCU) football games.

  • Debra Schmidt, Greeters & Ushers Ministry

    Debra is married to Dan, and together they have one daughter and four grandsons. She grew up in Long Island, NY, but has lived in The Woodlands for many years since. Debra, a spirited entrepreneur, is passionate about using her gifts for the Kingdom of God and helping others to do the same. She loves playing golf, reading, and spending time with grandchildren.

The Bishop and Diocesan Ministry Team

  • Rt. Rev. Clark Lowenfield, Bishop

    Bishop Clark Lowenfield is married to Tricia, and they have three daughters and two sons-in-law. He has served as senior pastor of churches in South Carolina and Texas for over 30 years. Bishop Clark is a graduate of Amherst College with degrees in Political Science and Economics and The University of the South with a Master of Divinity. Bishop Clark is the senior leader of the Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast.

  • Rev. Lisa Schwandt, Canon for Discipleship

    Lisa is married to Scott, and they have two adult children, Sarah and Michael. She serves as the Dean of the College of Deacons and as the Canon for Discipleship for the Anglican Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast. Her joy is disciple-making for Christ, proclaiming His gospel, and encouraging His people. Lisa is originally from Tennessee but has lived all her adult life in Texas.

  • Rev. Craige Borrett, Canon for Parish Development

    Craige is a Native Texan from El Paso, but he and wife, Nancy, now reside in The Woodlands. Craige serves Bishop Clark and the diocese by helping with congregational development. He loves the church and has a passion for it to be healthy.

Shepherd’s Council

  • Anthony Palmer

    Anthony is HopePointe’s Lead Shepherd Partner. He is married to Laura Lea, and together they have two daughters, Grayson and Emerson. Anthony and family have been attending HopePointe since 2009. Anthony is passionate about demonstrating God’s unconditional love to everyone. He is a small-town guy at heart who loves the outdoors.

  • Jack Lewis

    Jack is married to Melanie, and together they have two children and two beautiful granddaughters. Jack is a HopePointe LifeGroup Catechist and a member of the Prayer ministry. He is a recovering attorney with a heart for peacemaking and mediation. A perfect day for Jack would include hiking in the mountains with Melanie with a camera around his shoulder, catching (and releasing) a large rainbow trout, and cooking a fun meal for family or friends.

  • Doug Ritze

    Doug and his wife Sharon are blessed with three children and four grandsons, and have been members of HopePointe since 2006. Both of them previously served as missionaries in Ethiopia, which is where they met and were married. Together they are part of HopePointe’s St. Matthew’s LifeGroup.

  • Bruce Lacombe

    Bruce is married to Dilly, and they have three adult children, Ryan, Kendall, and Courtney, and two wonderful granddaughters, Elise and Emily. Bruce is a long-time member of the HopePointe Choir. He is passionate about helping those in need both within the parish and elsewhere.

  • Dwight Alexander

    Dwight is married to Shelley, and together they have two grown children, Russell and Meredith. Dwight is a Retired U.S. Navy veteran who currently works for a large defense company. He is passionate about seeing men grow in their faith as they build strong friendships. He loves to travel for fun, and is excited about picking up the guitar again after 40 years away from the instrument.

  • Mick Bailey

    Mick and Maggie met and married here at HopePointe. They have two children, Lucas and Birdie. Before coming to the U.S. for his job in the oil and gas industry, Mick did not attend church. Through his involvement at HopePointe since 2011, he has been able to discover and grow in faith and has served in various ministries over the years. Mick loves food and travel. He counts himself very fortunate to experience many culinary and travel adventures with his family.

Stewards

  • Scott Schwandt

    Scott is married to Deacon Lisa, and they have two adult children, Michael (a priest serving at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church in Spring, TX) and Sarah (serving in leadership at Seven Mile Road Church in Houston, TX). Scott is passionate about service and is involved in various areas of church leadership, including helping lead the Audio/Visual Team on Sunday mornings. He is passionate about discipleship, leadership, and fellowship.

  • Scott Woodcock

    Scott and his wife Terri, originally from New Jersey, have three grown children. They are passionate about doing life with their HopePointe LifeGroup. Scott also enjoys singing in the HopePointe Choir. Scott and Terri lived in Shanghai, China, for a couple of years and enjoyed traveling all over northern Asia.

  • Tiffany Forth

    Tiffany and her husband, Michael, have two daughters, and have called HopePointe home since 2018. Tiffany was raised in San Antonio, TX, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and spent most of her adult life in the Houston area. She also lived several years in both Tennessee and Scotland. She is passionate about living a life of service and bringing light, joy, and encouragement to others. Tiffany loves ruby red grapefruit, Microsoft Excel computer software, and adding to her varied plant collection. Fun fact about Tiffany: She has a tattoo on her left wrist that says "Chle," the Gaelic word for ‘left,’ so she always knows which is her left hand.

  • Marc Hutson

    Marc and his wife Dianne have two grown children who both live nearby. HopePointe has been their church home since 2004. They are very involved in their LifeGroup where Marc serves as its Catechist. Marc's background prior to his retirement is in insurance and financial services. This is Marc's second time serving as a Steward.

    Marc is obsessed with his grandchildren, fishing of any kind, duck hunting, and travel. He enjoys his weekly service with Pregnancy Assistance Center North which involves picking up furniture and clothing for their resale shop in Conroe.
