Woodlands Boys Choir
In the tradition of Boys Choirs throughout the world from the ancient times with the development of western music in the church through the modern day, the Woodlands Boys Choir is being launched. Membership will be by audition (unprepared and brief) and include boys ages 7 - 13 whose voices have not changed. Rehearsals will begin in the fall of 2015, day of week and time to be determined based on schedules.
The director, Sherryl Smith Pond, is an experienced choral conductor who has served in liturgical churches concurrently with her career as an international concert organist. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in church music, secondary vocal music education and organ performance from Texas Christian University and was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany.
She served in various capacities as Artist-in-Residence, College Organist and Senior Instructor of Music at Dartmouth College for 19 years before returning to Texas in 2012.
Brief auditions (no preparation necessary) will be held by appointment only at HopePointe Church at 3333 South Panther Drive, The Woodlands, Texas, 77381. Directions here.
Any young men ages 7 - 13 interested in auditioning, please contact Sherryl Smith Pond at firstname.lastname@example.org, or complete online the application below.
