Serve in our traditional music at HopePointe. Read below to learn more!
The HopeChoire is an inter-generational parish choir made up of high school students through seniors, and we are always welcoming new members! The HopeChoire leads worship at the 9:00 AM traditional worship service and other occasional and festival services during the church year. HopeChoire sings choral anthems and more major works of a variety of styles and composers, ancient classics through contemporary classical composers, as well as modern hymn and song arrangements.
Sing Now Summer Choir
During the summer months, the choir does not have a weekday rehearsal and services are more relaxed with the choir not vesting or processing. We invite and welcome anyone interested in singing to just arrive on Sunday mornings at 8:15 to warm up, rehearse and sing with us as we help lead the traditional worship service at 9:00.
Children ages 7 - 13 sing in the Kingdom Choir, which rehearses between services, 10:15 - 10:50. Children learn in these early years how they can serve the Lord in this leadership role as they help lead worship through song for both worship celebrations many times throughout the church year. They sing rich texts, which are often scripture, which will stay with them throughout their lives. They learn that singing is fun, challenging, engaging, uplifting, prayerful and worshipful. They learn the elements of our liturgy and church year. They also learn to read music. Experience in children's church choirs may lead them into a lifetime of serving in the Church. Contact their director, Sherryl Pond, for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Woodlands Boys Choir
In keeping with the Anglican boy choir tradition, HopePointe is honored to be the sponsor of the Woodlands Boys Choir, providing rehearsal space, utilities, facilities for retreats and performances, photocopying and untold support and encouragement. The majority of the Board of Directors is made up of HopePointe members and clergy. The boys choir gives back by singing for church services/events three times per year, including the annual Christmas in the Woods Lessons and Carols, which includes artistic and live tableau depictions of the traditional Christmas lessons from scripture.
The boys choir is already performing with other major performing ensembles in the area, including the Lone Star College Choir and the Montgomery County Choral Society, and they perform at other area venues and galas.
Membership is through a simple, unstressful audition for boys ages 7 - 13 with unchanged voices.
HopePointe's Organist-Choirmaster and Pastor of Traditional Music, Sherryl Pond, founded the group in the fall of 2015. For more information, contact her at email@example.com and visit our website at www.woodlandsboyschoir.org.
We also seek to utilize instruments as much as possible, whether it be trumpet, flute, violin, cello, percussion, etc.; please contact Sherryl Pond at firstname.lastname@example.org if you play an instrument.
