Bishop Clark W.P. Lowenfield, Senior Pastor
The Right Rev'd Clark WP Lowenfield is married to Tricia and has three daughters: Nancy Page, Mary Moore, and Catherine Clare. Besides serving as Senior Pastor of HopePointe, Bishop Clark also oversees The Anglican Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast and is also a leader in the One Mission Fellowship of churches in the Montgomery County area. He is a graduate of Amherst College with degrees in Political Science and Economics and The University of the South-School of Theology in Sewanee, Tennessee with a Master of Divinity.
Lisa J. Schwandt, Deacon Lead Deacon for Discipleship
The Rev'd Lisa Schwandt, more commonly known as “Deacon Lisa,” serves as an associate pastor, living out various pastoral and teaching responsibilities at HopePointe. She also serves as Dean of the College of Deacons for The Anglican Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast. Lisa received her Bachelor of Journalism degree from The University of Texas at Austin and her Certificate of Diaconal Studies from the Anglican School for Ministry. Lisa is married to Scott, and they have two grown children, Sarah and Michael.
John Tucker, Priest Lead Pastor Family Life
The Rev'd John Tucker, is currently serving as our Lead Pastor for Family Life at HopePointe and living out various pastoral and teaching responsibilities. He also serves as Communications Director for The Anglican Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast. John grew up in Austin Texas and attended Wake Forest University, before leaving Wake to move to Zambia, Africa to serve as a missionary for just under four years. John is currently pursuing his Masters of Pastoral Ministry at Nashotah House Theological Seminary.
Shelly Sorem, Deacon Lead Deacon Pastoral Care
Shelly came to know and love the Lord in 1999 and has been a follower of Jesus is ever since. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology. Shelly has worked in children’s and women’s ministries and as a youth pastor. She is a deacon and a chaplain at the Westlake Volunteer Fire Department and serves as the vice president for Daughters of the Holy Cross Provincial Council. Shelly is passionate about people coming to know the love of the Lord and growing in their faith. She loves teaching Bible study and helping people dig into Scripture for themselves in order to learn how to apply it to their lives. Pastoral care ministry is where her heart is. Shelly is very relational and enjoys creating Christian communities where people can truly be disciplined and walk life together.
She and her husband Bill have been married for 27 years. They have two adult daughters, Allison and Emily and a granddaughter, Adalyn. Allison is a labor and delivery nurse and her husband, Kyle, is finishing his degree in physical therapy in San Antonio. Emily and her three-year old daughter, Adalyn, live in Huntsville while Emily completes a Master’s degree in clinical psychology. They all like to spend time together, especially when they can be at the beach or hiking in the mountains.
Robert Shaw, Executive Pastor
After a career of 38 years working in the energy industry, Robert retired with his wife Karen to The Woodlands. Robert assists the treasurer with the financial records of the church, works with our various church partners on the campus and helps keep the overall church property running smoothly.
Jon Beadle, Youth Pastor
Jon currently serves as the Youth Pastor here at HopePointe, as well as an ordinand in the diocese. He was born in Louisiana into a family of preachers, bayou fishermen, and musicians. After moving to God's country he attended Sam Houston State University where he received a BA in Philosophy, married Lauren, and began to have a litter of children; and discovered a passion for sharing his faith with others. He is currently finishing up his Masters at Fuller Theological Seminary.
Chris Vance, Pastor of Modern Music
Chris serves as the Worship Pastor for the modern worship service. He has been married to Jeanna for over 16 years and has two daughters, Anamieke and Xanny. When he’s not at HopePointe, Chris runs a marketing agency for small businesses and works with Open Sky Arts Collective, a non-profit missional arts organization founded by Jeanna.
Chris has a BBA in Music Business from Belmont University in Nashville and an MBA from University of Houston. After graduation, he joined Youth With A Mission with a passion to bring the gospel to “the least of these”. It was YWAM that brought him to Houston, and marrying Jeanna that kept him here.
Sherry Pond, Pastor of Traditional Music
As Organist-Choirmaster, Sherry directs HopePointe's multi-generational choir that helps lead the traditional worship service. Additionally, she is the Founding Director of the Woodlands Boys Choir, an outreach ministry of HopePointe. Sherry holds B.M.,B.M.Ed. and M.M.degrees from Texas Christian University, studied organ in Germany under a Fulbright Grant, and has served on the music faculties of SHSU and Dartmouth College. She is married to Dennis and has three grown children, one grandchild, and four dogs.
Tom Swinchatt, Treasurer
Tom assumed the treasurer’s role in September of 2016 after retiring from a 35+ year career in the petrochemical industry with numerous positions in supply chain. He and Kathy reside in the Woodforest community as empty nesters with 4 daughters living out their lives elsewhere. Three of them (with one granddaughter) live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and one lives in Washington DC. Tom enjoys managing his own calendar in retirement along with service to the church, enjoying the outdoors and re-engaging with a joy of woodworking.
Sandy Rambach, Lead Pastor - SHAPE Ministry
Sandy Rambach serves as Lead Pastor of SHAPE, a ministry helping people to identify and serve out of their spiritual gifts. She is also a Biblical Therapist here at HopePointe. Sandy and her husband, Steve, are long-time residents of The Woodlands. She was born and raised in South Dakota and has a background in music and design from Augustana College and the University of Houston.

Anthony Palmer, Lead Elder Partner
Anthony and his wife Laura Lea moved to The Woodlands, TX from Memphis, TN in 2008. They have two beautiful daughters’ in Grayson and Emerson. Anthony has a BBA in Managerial Finance from The University of Mississippi, and currently works as the Director of Global Sales and Business Development for a UK based energy firm. Laura Lea also graduated from The University of Mississippi, where the couple met, with a BA in Psychology. She currently works for The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership where she serves as the Senior VP of Business Recruitment and Retention. Laura Lea is also the only Certified Economic Developer in Montgomery (CEcD). Laura Lea is very involved in many philanthropic organizations in the community, as well as serving on several Boards for local non-profits. Anthony enjoys all things outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and competitive shooting. Their family loves to travel, especially back to the family farm in Mississippi.
Bruce Lacombe, Elder
Bruce, his wife “Dilly” and their three children (Ryan, Kendall, and Courtney) moved from Lafayette, LA in 1991. Both Bruce and Dilly received their undergraduate degrees from Nicholls State and Masters Degrees from Southern Mississippi. Dilly is the lead Speech Pathologist at Memorial Herman in The Woodlands and Bruce is in the Oilfield purchasing and preparing contracts. Outreach is important to Bruce...and his grandchildren Elise and Emily.
Steve Rambach (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Steve serves as an Elder and Pastor of the Prayer Ministry. He and his wife, Sandy, are longtime residents of The Woodlands. Steve grew up on the beach in Southern California. He completed his undergraduate and dental degree at USC, did a residency while serving in the Army and completed a Prosthodontic specialty at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has been in private practice in the Woodlands since 1983. Steve still enjoys the beach.
Doug Ritze, Elder
Doug and his wife Sharon moved to The Woodlands in 1987 along with their three daughters. Both Sharon and Doug were life-long Lutherans until they joined HopePointe in 2006. Now empty nesters, they try to find time to interact with their four grandsons. Before their retirement Sharon was a pre-school teacher while Doug is an IT consultant. If you happen to be in the Alden Bridge area you might see Doug on his daily walk.
Jonathan Travis, Elder
Jonathan and his wife Melissa moved to the greater Houston area from central North Carolina in 1999. Jonathan earned a technical degree in automotive technology at Universal Technical Institute in 2000, and completed the graduate training program with BMW of North America later that year. Since then, he has worked as a BMW Master Technician, currently for BMW of The Woodlands. Jonathan and Melissa are raising two boys, Corban (2003) and Cayden (2007), and have a big fluffy cat named Kepler. They enjoy traveling (especially to places where they can sail and snorkel), watching sci-fi movies, and target shooting. Melissa is a professor and author, currently serving in the Christian Apologetics department at Houston Baptist University.

Scott Schwandt, Lead Steward Partner
Scott serves as a Steward and Pastor of Audio/Visual at HopePointe Anglican Church. Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his MBA from Our Lady of the Lake, San Antonio. Scott is married to Deacon Lisa, and they have two children. Sarah is a graduate of Texas A&M University and received her Masters from the University of Texas, Medical Branch, Galveston TX Physician’s Assistant school. Sarah is happily married to Bill Cornelius and lives in Houston. Michael is a graduate of Centenary College in Shreveport, LA, received his Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell and was ordained to the priesthood in 2018. Michael is happily married to Rachel living in Spring, TX. Scott’s secular work takes him into the energy industry.
Darrell Jones, Steward
In 2008, God brought Darrell and his wife Hillarrie to HopePointe Church from San Antonio, where Darrell was born and raised. Darrell is deeply blessed in many ways by his children, Carson and Peighton, and by Hillarrie, whom he married in 2000. Darrell attended an Episcopal church as a boy. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in criminal justice, and worked for seven years in that field until leaving it to attend law school. Darrell now practices oil and gas law in his own firm. He enjoys hunting and fly fishing, and looks for opportunities to co- labor with Christian ministry charities.
Scott Woodcock, Steward
Scott and his wife Terri moved to The Woodlands in 1995 and have 3 children (Doug, Eric and Ryan). Scott grew up in New Jersey and graduated Gettysburg College ('82) with a degree in Chemistry and obtained his MBA in business from Montclair State College ('88). Scott and Terri enjoy rooting for Vandy, TCU and Oklahoma where each of their 3 sons went to college and enjoy travel and golfing (Scott) and quilting (Terri). Scott works for Huntsman Corporation as Operational Marketing Manager in the Woodlands.
